Last week I posted the inked version of this piece. This week I colored it as a demonstration for two of my First Year classes at the Kubert School. The coloring was done with my Copic markers.

This one is a private commission of Archie Comics’ Betty Cooper being carried off by Universal Studios’ Gillman from the classic monster movie, The Creature From The Black Lagoon! The Gillman is my favorite of Universal Studios famous monsters!

    This one is a lot of fun! I can just imagine a pic of DeDe Diaz being carried away in a similar fashion, with a circular bubble in one corner – a cutaway close-up of the Gillman’s head revealing a grinning version of me.

    Whoops, you asked who should carry Betty away! Yeah, okay, I wouldn’t mind carrying Betty either. If not me, then Solomon Grundy. Just because.

      Ha! Poor, poor DeDe. I guess maybe you can hope that she makes an appearance on Riverdale. Of course that means there’s also a good chance DeDe will be a drug abusing murderer and be played by a German Shepherd.

        A male German Shepherd, knowing my luck. Just as well I don’t watch it. I’ll stick to their superhero shows, but that’s about it.

      Thanks, John. Generally, I charge 75.00 for a partial figure and 100.00 per full figure. Rates might vary depending on specifics.
