Well, Folks, sadly the Kickstarter for The Haunted Cowboy graphic novel did not reach its goal.
For those who haven’t read my previous posts on this project, The Haunted Cowboy was a supernatural western about a young teenage misfit being trained to be the ultimate cowboy by the ultimate cowboy, the legendary Wild Bill Hickok. The story was created and written by Scott Young. I was going to pencil the art and my pages were going to be inked by the incredible Kim DeMulder, my former teacher and now my fellow teacher at the Joe Kubert School. The great Tom Mandrake, artist of such books as Batman, The Spectre, Shazam, and many others, provided us with a gorgeous cover. All of us are former Kubies and with the exception of Scott, we are all current teachers at JKS! It was a real school effort!
We ran a brisk campaign, but as I said, we did not meet our goal. For now the pages, I’ve posted are all that there is of The Haunted Cowboy.
All hope, however, is not lost. Later on, The Haunted Cowboy team will be getting together to rethink our strategy. We may just yet find a way to bring you this spectral story of the Old West. Please keep checking back here for more updates. I also recommend following The Haunted Cowboy Facebook page for updates as well as a look at Kim DeMulder’s beautiful inking over my pencils. Keep a good thought, Folks! Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Please post below!
Thanks, Everybody!
