This print is my variant cover to a special issue of IDW’s BACK TO THE FUTURE comic book. In celebration of Archie’s 75th Anniversary, IDW will be commemorating the event with a series of Archie-themed variant covers to some of their books. As a fan of both Archie and Back To The Future, I was very honored to be asked to draw this cover. At NYCC 2015, I introduced this cover as a print and it proved to be one of my most successful items of the whole con. It was a great eye-catcher that stopped a lot of traffic at my table.
The beautiful coloring was done by my usual colorist, Anwar Hanano, who really outdid himself here and turned the job around very, very rapidly. A lot of the special effects you see here like the lightning and the sky were all Anwar’s idea.
