It’s Fan Fiction Friday and this week we get the penultimate page of this fan fictional first issue… Page 19: “Drop Dead Gorgeous!”
Picking up where we left off last week, we see Dilton Doiley’s homemade horde of undead Betties drawing closer and closer to the trapped Archie and Betty. It’s looking bad for Riverdale’s favorite class couple when we suddenly see for the first time in these pages, Betty’s best friend and richest rival… the beautiful Veronica Lodge.
We’re going to forego the usual Director’s Cut Commentary this week for a couple of reasons. First, in all honesty, there just aren’t many Easter eggs to talk about on this one. Secondly… and more importantly… the only Easter egg worth mentioning is one giant spoiler for next week’s page, the big cliffhanger finish for this issue! Sharp eyed genre fans will immediately know what I’m talking about! Whatever you do… do NOT miss next week’s edition of Fan Fiction Friday!
Next week’s page is the last page of this first issue of my Afterlife With Archie fan fiction. I will be continuing this story within the pages of a second issue. My goal is to have a four issue mini-series. I will however be taking short breaks in between issues in order to accommodate other projects I want to tackle. Some of these projects will involve Archie. Others may involve other characters I’ve wanted to tackle. Others still will be a creator owned project I’ve been kicking around. More info on those projects as we get closer and I have more worth posting. Stay tuned!
